How Spilanthol works
The plant compound that convinces your muscles to relax.
Spilanthol is a naturally occurring myorelaxant alkaloid — a compound that, when applied topically, may help reduce the contraction of underlying facial muscles. Repeated muscle contractions over time contribute to expression lines around the eyes, brows, and mouth.
By gently moderating these micro-contractions, Spilanthol allows the skin above them to relax and, with consistent use, to appear smoother. It works at the skin's surface and beneath it. It is plant-derived and topical in its action.
What the studies examined
Measured on real skin over 14 days.
Studies using a 5% Acmella oleracea extract serum — the same concentration as Parācress™ — assessed changes in wrinkle depth and skin texture in periorbital (around the eyes) and perioral (around the mouth) areas after 14 days of twice-daily application.
Results were measured through facial imaging and skin replica analysis across participants of varying ages. The studies reported visible improvement in wrinkle appearance, with no adverse effects or irritation noted.
